What function do I assign to Instagram
For me "growing on Instagram" is not yet a goal. First I choose a priority function: to be discovered by a specific audience, to highlight a skill, to generate conversations, to support a sale or to accompany existing customers.
Tie that function to an observable behavior. If you want to build authority, they can count qualified saves, profile visits and relevant messages. If you want to sell, you need to observe steps to a page, requests and quality of conversations. Followers alone don't explain what's working.
What data to give to ChatGPT?
Prepare a page with:
- goal and desired action;
- priority audience and its real questions;
- offer and difference compared to alternatives;
- five strong and five weak contents with results;
- sustainable attendance and available people;
- examples of phrases that represent the brand and phrases to avoid.
Don't ask for thirty ideas right away. First you need to understand which contents created the behavior you are interested in.
How does the editorial system work?
- PromiseWhy a person should follow you
- PillarsProblems and evidence that make the promise credible
- ColumnsRecognizable and repeatable series
- FormatsReels, carousels and Stories with a task
- SignalsBehaviors to observe and correct
Which prompts to use with ChatGPT?
Prompt 1: Diagnose before ideating
Analyze this Instagram dossier.
OBJECTIVE AND DESIRED ACTION
[Insert]
PUBLIC, OFFER AND CONSTRAINTS
[Insert]
CONTENTS AND RESULTS
[Insert 10 examples with format, theme, reach, saves, replies, profile views and actions]
Restituisci:
1. observable patterns, without attributing unproven causes;
2. hypotheses to be tested;
3. missing data;
4. contents to be replicated as a principle, not as a copy;
5. content to discontinue or redesign.
Don't create the calendar yet.Why do I use this prompt: It's an analytical prompt: separate useful signals and gaps. Avoid letting ChatGPT start with generic ideas that aren't related to results.
Prompt 2: design the editorial architecture
Use the approved diagnosis. Define an editorial promise in one sentence and maximum 4 pillars.
For each pillar create 2 rubrics. Indicate for each:
- public demand;
- brand point of view;
- proof or example needed;
- main format and motif;
- consistent call to action;
- behavior to measure;
- risk of becoming generic.
Discard columns that could be published unchanged by any competitor.Why do I use this prompt: This prompt designs the system: each rubric must support a promise and produce a behavior, not just address a theme.
Prompt 3: Construct the four-week test
Turn approved rubrics into a 4-week test.
Vincoli: [giorni, formati, persone, ore disponibili].
For each piece of content indicate week, rubric, question, central idea, test, format, CTA and primary metric. Keep at least two things constant so you can compare results.
Finally create a weekly review with three questions:
- what to continue;
- what to change;
- Which hypothesis doesn't have enough data yet.
Don't judge a format on just one piece of content.Why do I use this prompt: It is an operational prompt: it distributes the rubrics in a sustainable test and first defines the rules for reading the results.
How to measure and correct?
Assign a primary metric to each rubric. Discovery columns can look at qualified coverage and profile visits; those for in-depth analysis of saves and consumption time; those of relationships, answers and conversations. Don't add it all up into one fuzzy score.
Advantages
- Connect content and goals before the calendar
- Makes rubrics and tests comparable
- Helps maintain a sustainable frequency
Limits
- Without real examples the tone becomes generic
- Small data requires multiple observation cycles
- ChatGPT does not automatically access Insights

Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT create an Instagram strategy?
It can transform objectives, audiences and data into hypotheses for rubrics and formats. However, differentiation arises from real examples, experience and brand choices.
What Instagram data do I need to provide?
Objective, audience, offer, best and worst posts, available resources, sustainable frequency and action you want to get from users.
How do I avoid a generic editorial plan?
First ask for a diagnosis, then selection criteria, then motivated proposals. Don't start with a request for thirty ideas.
